McGregor first foe in 11-3A

The Tigers are looking to end their two-game losing streak as they begin district play against the McGregor Bulldogs on Friday. “Phase one of the season is over with and we’re back to being 0-0 with district play starting,” RHS Head Coach Jacob Campsey said.

Lady Tigers beat Florence to get first district victory

The RHS netters earned their first win in district play against the Florence Lady Buffaloes on Friday. “I was very proud of the girls’ performance,” RHS Head Coach Kelsey Hudson said. “We had a lot of younger athletes step up and I saw great leadership from the older girls.

Milano falls to Snook, 22-7

The Milano Eagles began district play Friday night with a tough loss against the Snook Bluejays 22-7. The Eagles are now 1-3 on the season. “I was impressed with our effort in the second half,” MHS Coach Chad Lagrone said.

RHS boys cross country wins meet, girls get second

The RHS Boys Cross Country team earned first place in the Triangular Cross-Country Meet in Cameron on Saturday. The girls team had a great showing also, with five runners finishing in the top 15 places. The meet featured the Cameron Yoe, Milano Eagles and Rockdale Tigers.

JV Blue loses to Bellville, 34-0

The Rockdale JV Blue traveled to Bellville this past Thursday to face the JV Brahmas. The young Tigers came up short ,34-0. They are now 0-2-2 on the season. Bellville’s offense created a big lead early in the game with a three-yard run and 12-yard pass that went for touchdowns.

RJH game canceled Last Thursday’s game between the Rockdale and Bellville Junior High teams was canceled due to weather concerns. Bulldogs had bye week THORNDALE—The Bulldogs football team had their bye week last week. They will play the Moody Bearcats this Friday.

Thriller was one of best games ever

Friday’s game was by far one of the best high school games I’ve ever seen. Both teams showed heart and will in a contest for the ages. While I’m on the sidelines taking pictures, I try to stay quiet so that I’m not a distraction.

Rockdale falls just short Friday in final minute heartbreak

Friday’s game against Lexington was nothing short of an instant classic. Both teams showed why they were ranked in the top 10 with many big plays and suspenseful moments. However, the Rockdale Tigers fell short, earning their first loss of the season 35-34.

RHS faces big test in Bellville

RHS will face another tough test this Friday as the 3-0 Bellville Brahmas come to town. “Bellville will be the best team we have played this season by far,” RHS Head Coach Jacob Campsey said. “That’s no disrespect to Lexington, but Bellville is just a different animal.

Lady Tigers begin district play with losses to Eagles, Hornets

The RHS volleyball team struggled this past week as they were defeated in both of their matchups. The Lady Tigers began district play on Friday as they faced off against the No. 3 ranked Lexington Lady Eagles. The girls lost the game in three sets 9-25, 8-25 and 14-25.
