With high school sports suspended, student athletes are staying active and their hard work is not going unnoticed as players are being recruited by colleges. The most recent commitment came last week, when RHS senior offensive tackle/nose guard Kaden Kruse committed to Wayland Baptist University.

Last Friday, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) closed its building for operations in Austin due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “We as a staff are working diligently to get our students back into competition,” UIL Director Charles Breithaupt said.

The University Interscholastic League (UIL) extended its suspension of all UIL sanctioned activities due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Texas. All contests, practices, rehearsals and workouts will remain suspended until further notice.
