Former Tiger returns to Rockdale

Rockdale fans might see a familiar face if they look up at the press box on Friday night. But unlike before, instead of wearing blue-and-gold, former Tiger Preston Ehler will be at the game rocking black-and-gold on Friday night as a part of the Giddings coaching staff.

Milano spikers see progress

Milano went 4-3 this past weekend playing seven games in three days. The Lady Eagles started Thursday off hot with wins over Austin-Travis, Buckholts and Holland at the Rockdale tournament. On Friday they lost in a tiebreaker match to Bremond 25-23, 15-25, 25-14, 14-25, 14-16.

Soccer league registration under way

MILANO NEWS Gause Soccer League registration is now open for the 2019 season, but today is the final day to sign up. Signups will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. at Gause School Cafeteria. Cost is $40 per child for all ages, this includes jersey and socks.

Young Lady Tiger team struggles at Cedar Creek

Rockdale faced tough competition in Bastrop when they played in the Cedar Creek Tournament, which featured 32 teams primarily from classifications 5A and 6A. “We had some tough struggles,” said Brian Thomas, Lady Tiger assistant volleyball coach.

Gerren wins Rockdale Country Club annual tournament championship

Chris Gerren won the men’s division in last Saturday’s Rockdale Country Club annual club championship tournament. With a score of 149 he beat out 32 members competing in five different divisions. Jeff King was second on stroke behind Gerren. Chad Barcak won the men’s handicap shooting a 142.
