Bocanegra, Tenorio top RJH runners Rockdale Junior High’s Jesus Bocanegra was the top cross country runner in Caldwell on Saturday, beating out more than 75 middle school boys for the top spot. Bocanegra was the only boy to finish the two-mile race in under 11 minutes with a time of 10:51.

Tigers throttle Hyde Park 66-7 in their own domain

Quarterback Jace Robinson broke the RHS passing record for a single game in Rockdale’s 66-7 route of Hyde Park. Robinson tied Clayton’s Gibb’s six touchdown pass record in the first half of Friday night’s game at Tiger Stadium, and completed the seventh pass in the second half.

Lady Tiger wins silver in Caldwell Invitational Meet

Lady Tiger sophomore Ivanna Luna placed second with a time of 12:15 at the Caldwell Invitational Saturday morning. Luna was nine seconds behind Mara Johnston, the top-runner from Class 5A A&M Consolidated. Other Lady Tigers were: 15. Cady Barcak, 13:50; 20. Jesenia Navarro, 14:00; 33.

Lady Tigers come up short in Milam County rivalry

Rockdale fell 23-25, 21-25, 14-25 on Friday night in Cameron to the rival Lady Yoe in their first matchup of the season, ending the week with a 1-2 record in District 19-3A. The first set was a close one with the other school from Milam County edging out RHS 25-23.

Eagles lose battle with Bulldogs 14-3

Milano came out on the losing end in Iola Friday night 14-3 in a hard-fought, defensive battle where each team held the other to less than 150 total offensive yards.

Dawgs eat Dogs as THS takes down Dawson 42-6 at home

Thorndale goes 3-1 into their District 13-2A opener after two explosive 20-point quarters in their 42-6 win over Dawson 42-6 at Bulldog Stadium on Friday evening. The score was 0-0 in the first but THS scored three unanswered touchdowns including a 30-yard run by Cain Brymer.
