Bulldogs 48, Eagles 16

For the second straight year, Thorndale defeated Milano with five different players scoring for the Bulldogs in their 48-16 win over the Eagles Friday night at Pruitt Field in Milano.

Milano takes final playoff spot

Even with a 7-6 record, the Lady Eagles are the fourth place and the final playoff team out of District 25-2A. Milano’s six losses have been to Thorndale, Thrall and Granger. All three of those teams spent parts of this season ranked in the top 25 of Class 2A by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

Thorndale wins district title

Thorndale’s varsity volleyball team defeated Milano Tuesday evening 25-14, 25-20, 26-24 on the road to clinch the District 25-2A championship. This was the second team in three years the Lady Bulldogs have been district champs after being co-title holders with Thrall in 2017.

Fair rodeo

Two nights of professional rodeo thrilled big crowds Friday and Saturday at the Rockdale Fair. The rodeo production company had not yet posted complete results at The Reporter’s Tuesday deadline. It’s hoped results can be published in next week’s paper.
