Bulldogs face familiar opponent Center Point

On Thursday, the Thorndale Bulldogs will be playing Center Point in the bi-district round of the playoffs for the second straight year. “You always worry about playing someone two years in a row,” said Scott Hawkins, Thorndale High School head football coach and athletic director.

RHS wins season opener 38-28

RHS came out on top 38-28 over Austin’s St. Dominic Savio in their season opener on Friday in the old RHS Gymnasium. Savio led at the end of the first 10-7 and the game was tied 17-17 at halftime.

Eighth grade goes undefeated in 14-8 win over Academy

Rockdale’s eighth grade “A” team ended their season undefeated with a 14-8 win over Academy on a cold Thursday evening at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers were able to hold Academy on their final drive when the Bumblebees had a first-and-10 from the RJH 12, stopping them four plays in a row.

Costilla, Pounders named band sweetheart, beau

Rockdale High School’s co-drum major Marina Costilla was named the Big Blue Band from Tigerland’s Band Sweetheart and Will Pounders was named Band Beau during Friday night’s halftime performance at Tiger Stadium.
