The Rockdale Tigers had their first scrimmage last Friday night here at Tiger Stadium.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY

The Rockdale River Run Cross Country event was held Friday at Apache Pass and the Rockdale Tigers and Rockdale Lady Tigers had great runs. The varsity boys team that included Jonathan Fuller, Austin Caldwell, Jesse Montelongo and Alex Cooper came in first place.

Tigers to host Rogers in scrimmage Friday

The Rockdale Tigers have a scrimmage scheduled against Rogers Friday here at home. Start time is 6 p.m. for JV and 7 p.m. for varsity. They will then travel to Salado on Thursday, Aug. 22, for another scrimmage, with start times at 6 p.m. for JV and 7 p.m. for varsity.

Lady Tigers to play in Navasota tourney

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the Rockdale Lady Tigers will be playing in the Navasota Tournament. Let’s go Lady Tigers!

Tigers begin two-a-day practices

Monday marked the beginning of a long high school football season as Tiger two-a-days got under way. Rockdale Athletic Director/Head Coach Hunter Hamrick and staff began putting the Tigers through their paces Monday morning at Tiger Stadium.

Rockdale’s Mitchell wins Last Cowboy Standing competition

Rockdale native Ezekiel Mitchell recently won the Camping World PBR Last Cowboy Standing event in Cheyenne, Wyoming. After two nights of intense competition, the 27-year-old Austin Gamblers’ athlete went 3-for-5, out-dueling reigning PBR World Champion Cassio Dias of Sao F. de Sales, Brazil.
