Music Fest draws downtown crowds

Rockdale’s second annual Fall Music Fest felt like a Summer Fest. The first-Saturday-in-October event missed the actual fall weather by a couple of days—high temperatures had dropped to the 70’s by that day—but still brought good crowds to downtown.

Acosta, Rodriguez win Kay Theatre run

Alex Acosta of Thorndale and Laura Rodriguez of Cameron won the male and female divisions of the Kay Theatre 5K Zombie Run, held Saturday morning as part of the annual Rock-dale Fall Music Festival.

2019 Fair Children’s Pageant contestants

Here are contestants who will take the stage at 11 a.m. Saturday in the RHS Auditorium for the annual Rockdale Fair Children’s Pageant. Photos were submitted to The Reporter by pageant officials who were unable to provide identifications or list full names of the contestants.

HISTORIC

The Milam County Historical Commission hosted the First Friday Social at the city library on Oct. 5. The monthly sessions are designed as a get-together for Rockdale residents, including new residents and any other interested persons. Light refreshments are served. Hours are 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Milano FBC to host Gospel Fest

Milano First Baptist Church will host a Gospel Fest from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday. The event will include lots of Christian music, along with free kid train rides, bounce house, play area for the kids and free hamburgers, hot dogs and homemade cobblers.

Gause Baptist Church Fall Festival begins at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27. Fun and food for all. Gause school soccer team will play in Cameron Saturday. Monday will be a student holiday for Columbus Day. Tuesday the Lady Bears will play here. Check with the school for time of game. On Wednesday, Oct.
