San Gabriel Christian Church celebrates 100th anniversary

San Gabr iel Chr istian Church is the oldest congregation in Milam County. An EF-0 tornado ripped through Milam County on April 6, 2019 with winds up to 85 miles per hour, taking off the roof of the church and causing extensive damage. Generous members of the community, former and current congregants, and a host of organizations donated time and funds to repair the church.

San Gabr iel Bapt ist church will host a gospel singing on Saturday, June 29. The evening will feature congregational singing as well as solos and other special music. Singing will begin at 6 p.m.

Pleasant Hill Cemetery will hold their annual homecoming and meeting at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 14, to elect a board of directors, vote on bylaws and other business to maintain and improve the cemetery foundation.
