The men and women of Peace Lutheran Church competed over the months of July and August collecting supplies for the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) Disaster Response program which focuses on providing assistance to those affected by natural disasters such as hurricanes, floods, tornadoes and other emergencies. They have warehouses throughout the U.S. with three in the Texas and Oklahoma region. Because of the spring storms, all the regional warehouses needed more supplies. Peace Lutheran collects items year-round for the NALC Disaster Response. Shown here are Sherry Stork, Amy Jeanne Welton, Floyd Brockenbush, Carolyn Taylor and Kent Givens.
John Donne told us, “No man is an island, entire of itself. Each is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less. As well as if a promontory were. As well as if a manor of thine own or of thine friends were. Each man’s death diminishes me, for I am involved in mankind. Therefore, send not to know for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.”
