Chavez-Kuchera wins art title

Stepha ny Chave z Kuchera has been named Artist of the Year by popular national hunting and conservation magazine Her winning painting of a duck lifting out of the water graces the cover of the magazine’s January/February issue.

Trail Life Troop has new leader

Local Trail Life Troop TX-1516 changed leadership at Monday night’s meeting. Founding Troop Master, Patrick Whalen, has stepped down after almost six years of leadership. Troop Master Whalen is moving and therefore handing over his role to a new Troop Master.

Splash Camp 2026 set for March

Splash Camp 2026 is making a big splash this spring, inviting 6th through 8th grade students to dive into a weekend packed with learning, leadership and fun. The camp will take place March 27-29 at the Texas 4-H Conference Center in Brownwood.

There’s a viral Costco rotisserie chicken recipe going around in which make a chicken salad in the bag the chicken came in. Actually there are several different ones with all kinds of ingredients. This one looks good to me. The directions don’t say but I would use a room temperature chicken.
