Spring recipes using lemon

The farmers market is starting on April 2 and I’m excited to go see all the spring produce. Mom made regular spaghetti recently and it was very good. Here is a more spring-like version that is also vegetarian if you’re into that kind of thing. Basil and lemon go very well together.

National Nutrition Month

In March, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics focuses attention on healthful eating through National Nutrition Month. This year’s theme, Celebrate a World of Flavors, embraces global cultures, cuisines and inclusivity, plus highlights the expertise of registered dietitian nutritionists.

VFD annual fundraiser tickets on sale

The Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual fundraiser at the KC Hall on April 23 from 5 p.m. to midnight. A meal will be served at 5:30 p.m. Ticket sales began on Feb. 14 and are $150 per couple.

Pack Pals gets donation for food

The Pack Pals program provides a weekend supply of nutritious food for children when school lunch and breakfast is unavailable on a weekend or a school holiday. Each food bag contains two breakfasts, two lunches and two snacks.

Here’s a recipe for indoor fajitas. This recipe includes the seasoning, but if you have a favorite bottled seasoning for fajitas just use that to make it easier.

New Hope Baptist to hold Family/Friends Day
