Friday shooter in custody

Rockdale Police Department received a call of “shots fired” on Friday, May 24 from Shady Grove RV Park at 987 West US 79. Officers responded to the area where they began receiving rifle fire from an RV towards the highway.

MDD receives clean audit for fiscal year

The Rockdale Municipal Development District (RMDD) Board of Directors received an audit report for Fiscal Year 2023 on Monday, May 20. RMDD Economic Development Director Jim Gibson told the board that there were no audit findings or deficiencies.

NEW TIME CAPSULE

MARC ride set for June 8

The 23rd annual MARC Ride, which helps fund the Milam Adult Resource Center (MARC), is scheduled for June 8 at The Ranch. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and there will be a live auction after the ride at 4 p.m. with a barbecue meal for the public starting at 11:30 a.m. until sold out. Plates are $15.

There’s a new shop in town at Street Ministries at 225 N. Main St. The shop is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and sells a variety of Christian- themed merchandise.
