Gause annual Mothers Day activities set for Sunday

The Gause annual Mothers Day activities will be Sunday. Hope you are able to attend. Pray for nice weather. It is so nice to see people we haven’t seen in several years or even for a year. It is nice to see people out and moving, especially when they are as old as me.

There’s a new shop in town at Street Ministries at 225 N. Main St. The shop is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and sells a variety of Christian-themed merchandise.

Rockdale Police Officers made one felony arrest during the past week: • Charlotte Tabor, 47, Rockdale, was arrested on May 5 for a warrant for theft ($2,500) with two previous convictions and for possession of a controlled substance (less than 1 gram) in a drug free zone.

Allen Mack, the founder of the Living History Foundation, will be “Paving the Way for the Buffalo Soldiers” at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library on May 16. The presentations and living history exhibit will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and again from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Brookshire Brothers had a fundraiser for long-time store manager Jerry Pulley on Saturday, and they drew a huge crowd. The store sold boiled crawfish and shrimp plates with sausage, potatoes and corn.
