Groundwater Summit July 18

The Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District will host the 10th Annual Burleson and Milam Counties Groundwater Summit on July 18 at the Caldwell Civic Center.

Two felony arrests, two traffic accidents during the past week

Rockdale Police Officers made two felony arrests during the past week including: • Ofc. Wall arrested Paul Henry Ruiz, 49, Cuero on a Pardon and Parole Board warrant on June 20. • Ofc. Wall arrested Henry Sams, 68, Rockdale for assault of family/household member with previous conviction on June 24.

ROCKDALE JUNIOR HIGH

Lexington Heritage Center announces guest speaker

LEXINGTON—Businessman and award-winning author Bill Winsor will speak about his book Let’s Cross Before Dark: A History of the Ferries, Fords and River Crossings of Texas and the research that went into it at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 4. Admission is free, light refreshments will be provided.

Kay Theater hires summer interns with grant, donors

The Kay Theater Foundation was recently awarded a grant from the Central Texas Council of Government’s Development District of Central Texas 2024 Rural Internship Program to hire high school interns for the summer to help staff the Kay Theater.
