I’ve been going through 2nd Timothy with some people that I love. There is one common thread that the Apostle Paul writes about to a youngish, middle aged pastor named Timothy. That thread is “suffering.” This morning as I was praying in the shower (I know, too much information).

Two voices in the same night. Martin Luther King, Jr. didn’t want to be a national civil rights leader. He had gone into ministry because his father was a pastor, and he always did what Daddy King wanted. Martin wanted a quiet life as a professor, possibly someday as president of Morehouse College.

MARC ride set for June 8

The 23rd annual MARC Ride, which helps fund the Milam Adult Resource Center (MARC), is scheduled for June 8 at The Ranch. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and there will be a live auction after the ride at 4 p.m. with a barbecue meal for the public starting at 11:30 a.m. until sold out. Plates are $15.

Hannah Bakken has been named Miss Flame for 2024-2025 by the Milano Volunteer Fire Department. The 16-year-old is a Milano High School sophomore and the daughter of Buck and Marie Bakken.
