Destinee Bluford earned a spot in the ATSSB All-State Band, one of only eight RHS students to do so since 1981. She performed on Saturday morning at the Lila Cockrell Theater in San Antonio.

St. John’s United Methodist Church will hold their annual chili supper on Thursday, Feb. 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Tickets are $13 and are available at the door and includes chili, cornbread, dessert of your choice and a drink and can be taken home or eaten there.

Ireally like sweet potatoes. Others in my family, not so much. I remember making mashed sweet potatoes for a meal instead of regular mashed potatoes and they all acted like they were going to die.

Rockdale Rotary Club meets the first, third and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department from noon to 1 p.m. Lunch is provided. Rockdale Noon Lions Club also meets at RVFD on the f irst and third Wednesday of each month with lunch provided.
