Using fresh summer tomatoes

Kyle’s Kitchen We sure have been getting some good tomatoes lately and I’m sure you are too. Here are some recipes using fresh tomatoes. The first one came from my friend Jody Morris, and she said it was delicious. Jody said she added garlic and fresh lime juice to this recipe.

O.J. Thomas 58th reunion August 12 The O.J. Thomas Alumni Community Resource Center will hold their 58th annual homecoming on Saturday, Aug. 12, with a tailgate party from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a barbecue lunch at noon. A dance will be held in the cafeteria from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. featuring Joe Tex II.

Wayne and I joined family for a visit at the home of Kelly and Chris Cooper Sunday My brother, Ray, came by and visited later. It was good to see him. He stays busy with his job. I had a birthday on Tuesday, July 18, and he came by to wish me a “Happy Birthday.” I am now 82 years young.

MCT presents ‘Baskerville’ at Williams Event Center

Milam Communit y Theater in Cameron will present “Baskerville,” a play by comedic genius Ken Ludwig (Lend Me a Tenor, Moon Over Buffalo), who has transformed Ar thur Conan Doyle’s classic The Hound of the Baskervilles into a murderously funny adventure.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Springfield Baptist Church held their vacation bible school last week with 42 children participating. Linda Ford was the director and Ronnie Morgan is the pastor of the church.
