City celebrates Blanco, Wallis

Groundwater is part of everyday life in Burleson and Milam counties. It supports homes, farms, businesses and public water systems, but much of what happens below ground—and the work involved in managing it—is not always easy to see.

IN THE LINE OF DUTY

Ofc. Wachtel was called to Walmart on Sunday afternoon about a snake in a mobility shopping scooter in the parking lot. The snake turned out to be a harmless rat snake over six feet long. Ofc. Wachtel released the snake into a field near Walmart. 

Three felony arrests made during past week

Rockdale Police Officers made three felony arrests during the past week including: • Lisandro Martin Trujillo, 41, Jacksonville, was arrested by Ofc. Wachtel for possession of a controlled substance (under 1 gram). • George Lee Lane, 55, Rockdale, was arrested by Sgt.
