Good Afternoon! Did you know that Active Shooter events last an average of 9 minutes? Our local Law Enforcement is doing an excellent job preparing for the safety of students and faculty, but there’s too much at risk during those 9 minutes!

Valve Installation on Main Line at IOOF 9/13/2022

Starting at 8:30 am tomorrow, September 13th Residents from Elm Avenue to Cordova Drive will not have water for 6 hours.  Public works crew will be installing a 6" valve on the main line at IOOF at 901 North Main on North 908.

Rockdale Earth Day clean-up day, free movie Saturday

Rockdale Earth Day is holding a fall clean-up day on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a free movie, Monkey Kingdom, following at The Kay. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department.

Apache Pass cook off, car show Sept. 16-17

Apache Pass will hold their third annual cookoff and car show on Sept. 16-17 and will have retail vendors, food and drink vendors and giveaways. Live music acts will be Kenny Orts and Wynn Williams. There will also be a Kid Zone with inflatables.

National Night Out slated October 4th at Patterson Center

The Rockdale Police Department asks you save the date of October 4 on your calendar for a National Night Out at the Patterson Civic Center from 6 to 9 p.m.

Minerva Center meeting Sept. 15

The Minerva Community Center will hold its annual meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15. Everyone in the community is invited to attend. Some of the agenda topics will include building upkeep, building use and rental, the Minerva Homecoming and the election of a new trustee.

Marek annual picnic slated for Sunday

The Marek Community will host their annual Homecoming Picnic on Sunday at Saints Cyril & Methodius Church, located on FM 2269, seven miles northwest of Cameron. Mass begins at 10:30 a.m. with games and a drawing following at 11:30. Food service begins at 11 a.m.
