City gives boost to Fair

At Monday night’s city council meeting city officials suggested that the Rockdale Fair Association ask for some hotel and motel tax funding (HOT funds) to both promote the fair and to use the money for entertainment costs. The city was able to give the association $51,856.

Local Dairy Queen helps Children’s Miracle Network

Throughout September, DQ restaurants in Texas, including Rockdale according to owner Karen Smith and new manager Susana Bustillos, are raising funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) in a yummy campaign.
