Historical commission meets June 6

The Milam County Historical Commission will conduct its meeting at 10 a.m. Monday, June 6, at the historic Old City Hall in Rockdale and will include a presentation and discussion about the renovation project for the building.

Graduation goes off with a big bang

Best-selling author Alford to hold reading at library

Best-selling author Mary Alford will be at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library Thursday, June 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. She will be reading from her newest book, released this June, Among the Innocent.

Rockdale PD makes four felony arrests during past week

Rockdale Police Officers made four felony arrests during the past week including: • Stacy Ann Leystra, 46, Rockdale, was arrested on Tuesday by Sgt. Fain for a warrant from the Milam County Sheriff’s Department for burglary of a building.

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • 1202 Alcoa for a limb on a power line. • 472 CR 307 for a fire alarm. • Oaklawn Drive for a report of smoke behind a house. • West US 79 and Western Hills Road for a vehicle rollover on the railroad tracks. • Cameron/Green for a two-vehicle accident with injuries.
