St. Paul holds BBQ dinner February 13 St. Paul Lutheran Church and School in Thorndale will hold its annual BBQ brisket dinner and live auction fundraiser Sunday, Feb. 13, at the Thorndale Fireman’s Hall on North FM 486. The meal will be served from 11 a.m to 1 p.m.

65 new covid cases reported Friday

Today, we have 65 new cases to report with 22 cases discharged, leaving 338 confirmed, active cases in the County.  This is a new record number of active cases.  We did not have any new hospitalizations, no one was discharged and no deaths.

125 new COVID cases brings total to 314 active cases in the county

Today, we have 125 new cases to report and 60 cases to discharge, leaving 314 confirmed, active cases in Milam County.  This is just six cases under the record 320 cases we set earlier this month.  Two individuals were hospitalized and two were discharged, with no new deaths.

Milam County has 259 active, confirmed COVID cases

This evening we have 36 new cases to report and 28 cases to discharge leaving us with 259 active confirmed cases in the County.   Two individuals were hospitalized and one person was discharged.  Buckholts and Rockdale schools are closed until January 18, 2022.

Milam records 92nd COVID death

The whole country is going through a COVID nightmare with hospitalizations the highest ever and Milam County is no exception. This week the county surpassed its highest-ever totals on Monday but were below that by Wednesday with 94 patients discharged.

Rockdale GSL registration January 15th

Rockdale Girls Softball League will have their initial registration day on Jan. 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rockdale Girls Softball Complex located at 622 CR 305. An “early registration discount” of $10 for this sign-up day will be offered. Additional regular registration dates are Jan.

On Tuesday, the Rockdale MDD hosted another economic development lunch and learn and the special guest was Mart y Ja ncza k , government affairs director for the Temple Area Builders Janczak Association.

Council gives go ahead to hemp farm, boutique

At Monday night’s city council meeting the council members unanimously voted to allow James Simonton’s 3G Farm to open a retail store in the building next to Banda’s that used to be a nail salon. Simonton grows hemp products and will sell THC edibles, oils, creams and even textiles in his boutique.
