One felony arrest, three accidents during past week

Rockdale Police Officers made one felony arrest during the past week: • Niels Hunt Beery, 71, Rockdale, was arrested by Sgt. Richardson for burglary of a habitation. Accidents • Ofc. Rodriguez responded to Walmart parking lot for a hit and run accident on January 20 at 10:01 p.m.

Responded to: • 715 San Gabriel for a fire alarm on Jan. 21 at 4:01 p.m. • North FM 487 at CR 354 for a car accident on Jan. 25 at 6:13 p.m. • Pecan Ridge No. H2 for a smoke alarm on Jan. 25 at 7:14 p.m. Thorndale VFD Responded to: • CR 432 at CR 430 for a burn ban violation on Jan.

MILAM COUNTY JAIL LOG

Jail log lists all people charged with offenses through the county jail in Cameron. Charges may change during the process. Persons are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. • Niels Hunt Beery, 71, Rockdale, burglary of habitation, criminal trespass, released.

$1-billion data center deal at RIOT

ICE, ICE, BABY

Rockdale woke up to ice and sleet Saturday morning with below freezing temperatures all weekend. All Milam County schools were closed on Monday and Tuesday. The City of Rockdale, banks and other businesses were also closed Monday. Trash service was moved back by one day.

ROAR AWARDS

Rockdale Intermediate School teachers Linda Massey, left and Jessica Janak received R.O.A.R. awards at last Wednesday's school board meeting. The board also recognized UIL academic medalists and Rockdale Junior High's One Act Play medalists.
