To ensure students are prepared for in-demand, high-skill, high-wage careers in Texas, Rockdale ISD offers 12 programs of study that include occupations that meet regional labor market criteria that include projected job growth, annual job openings and the state median wage.
This year’s inductees will speak to students at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29 about their time at RHS and are invited to the homecoming pep-rally.
At the City Council meeting on Monday night Barkley Lagrone was nominated for a board position on the Milam Appraisal District. The appraisal district has several members whose terms are ending and up for renewal including Tim Arledge, Travis Yoakum, Lisa Gerthe, and Larry Patterson.
County Commissioners heard an update by Milam County Judge Steve Young on plans for a regional training center. The judge met with representatives of Temple College, the Central Texas Council of Government, the Texas Workforce Commission and local mayors to share ideas on how this project could come together. They also toured around the county to see various operations in place and discussed how they would be able to help.
Haven Jimenez was crowned Miss Rockdale Fair Queen for 2021 on Saturday night in the RHS auditorium. And, if that wasn’t good enough, the other pageant contestants also voted her Miss Congeniality. First runner-up (right) is McKenzie Becker of Thorndale and second runner-up (left) is Aaliyah McBrewer.
