Milano homecoming, ‘Gold Out’ game this week

Milano Homecoming is this weekend and all are invited to join in the fun. The king and queen will be crowned at halftime of the football game. Milano ISD is also participating in the annual Gold Out Game in support of childhood cancer research. Because kids can’t fight cancer alone.

Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire on Texas Street last Wednesday with the fire starting in the rear of the house. Strong winds caused the fire to spread quickly making it difficult to bring under control. Milano VFD also arrived and provided assistance. In the photo Capt.

St. Paul blood drive set for September 20th

S t . Paul Lutheran Church and School in Thorndale will hold a blood drive on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All donors will receive a voucher for one free barbecue sandwich from Thorndale Meat Market as well as a limited edition “We Are Blood” t-shirt.
