Rockdale Police Officers made one felony arrest during the past week: • Jose David Contes, 58, Rockdale, was arrested by Ofc. Jacobs for theft of property ($2,500 to $30,000). Accidents • Ofc. Lentz responded to US 79 at US 77 for a two-vehicle accident on Aug. 27 at 6:16 a.m. • Ofc.

A shooting near Buckholts brought about an intensive search for a suspect. The Milam County Sheriff’s Office responded just after 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, in reference to a gunshot victim in the 1800 block of CR 104 off FM 1915 outside of Buckholts.

SMITHVILLE—The Rockdale Tigers came away with an exciting win on Friday in Smithville. With a record-breaking night for a few Tigers, the Blue and Gold put together a solid performance to put themselves in the win column.
