Rockdale responds to 2 vehicle wrecks

Rockdale police handled two accidents both on U.S. 79 with one on Saturday and the other on Monday, according to the weekly police report. In the Saturday accident a pickup and car both received minor front-end damager, the report said.

Two state jail terms returned

CAMERON—A 55-year-old Rockdale man received two state jail terms recently in Judge John Youngblood’s 20th District Court, according to Prosecutor Bill Torrey.

Railroad museum to reopen Saturday Volunteers and staff at the Milam County Railroad Museum are ready to open on a limited schedule on Saturdays beginning Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors must wear masks and observe social distancing protocols.

What are your Thanksgiving sides?

It’s October now so that means it’s not too early to start talking about what we’re going to eat on Thanksgiving anymore. Some families have the exact same thing every single year and I get that. It’s a meal we look forward to all year long. In my family we tend to mix it up.

Gause volleyball and football teams had games this week. Friday they will have school pictures taken. Goodness, we will get our first school picture of granddaughter Addy. Monday is a staff development/student holiday and Tuesday there will be a volleyball game with St. Mary’s in Temple.
