Just about everything is closing for Christmas next Wednesday. Area financial institutions close at noon Tuesday (Christmas Eve) The post office is closed Wednesday. There’s regular service on Tuesday.

Prison for final two in murder

CAMERON—The final two defendants in the 2017 Emily Hacker murder—both of whom turned state’s evidence to help secure 50-year terms against their co-defendants—received 18-year and 15-year prison terms during the past week in 20th District Court.

The Rockdale ISD School Board approved the promotion of Brent Hasselbach to become the next RHS principal during Monday’s board meeting in the high school library.

USW calls for caution on checks

United Steelworkers Local 4895 officials are warning their members who have recently received checks from Alcoa not to cash them as the union investigates the situation further. ROUNDUP SERVES 1,050

—This was the KC Hall Monday morning as sacking and sorting continued for Christmas Roundup, Rockdale’s annual program of Christmas cheer which this year also included Milano.
