Every year in the early summer before the start of the new school year, Rockdale Independent School District officials get together to study bus routes and make any changes they deem necessary.
Well-wishers showered Milam County benefactor Drayton McLane with words of thanks and gifts of appreciation Monday at the County Commissioners meeting in the county courthouse.
People vaccinated combined with those that have been infected with COVID-19 and survived are pushing up the immunity level in the county.
The preconstruction demolition phase of Vision Historic Preservation Foundation’s restoration of the 1895 Rockdale City Hall began April 19 with the removal of interior nonload-bearing walls. The foundation purchased the historic building from the city of Rockdale in November 2020, with plans to restore and create a new purpose for the building. Honoring its historic significance, the building has been dubbed The 1895.
