JOB FAIR—

Rockdale High School hosted a job fair for graduating seniors on Thursday, according to Britini Pesak, Career and Technical Education director. She said about 25 businesses and organizations visited with the seniors.

Laura Kovar Fisher,

daughter of Michael and Dawn Kovar of Rockdale, will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Middle Tennessee State University on May 4, 2019. Laura took part in the National Student Nurse’s Association and will graduate with honors.

Summer school on tap for RISD students again

RISD REPORT This week Kathy Pelzel has information regarding summer vacation, and RISD’s summer school: Our current tradition of summer vacation began in the 1930’s. The reasoning was experts at the time believed that the mental exertion of learning would cause brain injury if it was prolonged.

MILANO—The Milano ISD Administration Building is the site for both Milano city and school elections. Mayor Roddy Gage is challenged by Karl Westbrook. In the Milano City Council, Bryan Woods joins incumbents David Gunnels Jr.

House numbers topic for Thursday town hall

The City of Rockdale wants input from the public on house numbers in a 6 p.m. Thursday town hall at the city library. Rockdale is contemplating its first mandatory house numbering system, first discussed in a city council session earlier this year.
