Game stats on page 3B. The Mi lano Eag le s showed off in front of a home audience in their first district game this season. They won a decisive victory against the Bartlett Bulldogs. The final score was Milano 28, Bartlett 6. The Eagles are 4-2 for the season and 1-0 in district play.

Thorndale still looking for first win

Game stats on page 3B. If you are a Bulldog fan, it’s not getting any easier for you as the season progresses. The Bulldogs lost Friday at home against the Weimar Wildcats. The final score was Weimar 35, Thorndale 22. This game was a fight and Thorndale’s offense came out ready to do battle.

LADY TIGERS VOLLEYBALL

The Lady Tiger volleyball teams for the most part continued to struggle last week with losses both to Troy and to Rogers. TROY— The Lady Tigers started the week with a road game against the Troy Trojans. The varsity spikers lost 3-0, JV1 lost 2- 0 and JV2 lost 2-0.

The Tiger JV team lost against the Franklin Lions at home last week. The final score was 30-0. It’s true that “Tiger Fight Never Dies” and the Tigers proved that in the second half, fighting the Lions all the way to the end of the game.

BOYS— The Tiger long distance crew (top photo) ran only once last week. They participated in the Camp Tejas Invitational in Giddings on Friday. Tiger runner Jesus Bocanegra competed as an individual in the 5A/6A division and placed an amazing fourth.

FRANKLIN—The Tigers have some play makers. Maybe all 34 young men on the current roster qualify. They showed up and really showed off against Texas Football magazine’s No. 1-ranked team in the state, the two-time defending state champion Franklin Lions last Friday.

Milano loses second in a row

The now 3-2 Milano Eagles lost their game Friday night against private school Geneva out of Boerne. This was a home game for the Eagles. The final score was Geneva 49, Milano 28. The Eagles had been on a roll but have now dropped two in a row.
