Thirty-five receive grand jury indictments Thursday

CAMERON—Thirty-five persons were indicted on 42 counts by a Milam County Grand Jury on Thursday: • Robert James Ohde, 39, Rockdale, bail jumping– failure to appear. • Pamela Sue Strasheim, 58, College Station, DWIthird or more. • Jessie Lee Tenner, 35, Rockdale, DWI with child passenger.

Second high-tech firm eyes Alcoa

A high-tech giant Japanese firm hopes to join in cryptocurrency mining at the former Alcoa Rock-dale Operations smelter. County Judge Steve Young said Tuesday GMO Registry wants to sign a lease with Alcoa for the remaining two potlines at the smelter and plans to employ 65 persons.

RISD sets new student signup

Startup time for Bitmain

Bitmain is planning to power up its cryptocurrency mining operations at the former Alcoa smelter as soon as Saturday. Kelly Ballew, facility manager, told The Reporter that’s the target date for power to go to the first line of 13,300 “antminer” computers.

Posters ‘not authorized’

The Rockdale ISD’s athletic department has issued a warning to businesses and individuals that a company soliciting for a 2019 Tiger football poster is not authorized to do so by the district.
