A couple of dessert recipes for Easter Sunday

I don’t like bananas, and neither does Mom, of course. However, I will eat them in banana pudding. But when I make it I have to leave a banana-less corner for Mom. Most Paula Deen recipes are too much for me, but I’ve never had better banana pudding than her recipe.

If you haven’t driven through downtown lately you should definitely do so just to see the facelift that has been given to the old Gaither buildings. Building owner, Keith Hagler, got a façade grant from the Municipal Development District (MDD) and hired Friendship Painting to complete the work.

I’m celebrating spring and free vaccines

I received two wonderful phone calls last Thursday. The first was from my friend, Carolyn Hafley, telling me she had seen a sure sign of spring on the road between Rockdale and Milano: Indian Paintbrushes. She was excited about them and so was I.

It’s time to get vaccinated in Milam County

If you have been thinking about getting vaccinated, now is the time to get on the list. This week, we plan to vaccinate about 1,100 individuals, which may deplete our waiting list. This means you can get a shot as early as next Tuesday, if you act now.
