How do we get into heaven? In Western, religious lore and literature, the image is almost universal. Saint Peter, who was promised “the keys of the kingdom of heaven,” stands at the pearly gates and greets or questions those who would enter.
The Rockdale Knights of Columbus continues its tradition of contributing to the community and caring for our neighbors in need. Rockdale KC representatives Kenny Svrcek (left) gives a $200 donation to Denise Brock, the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce executive director, as Pat Watson who along with her husband Charlie also donated $200 to the Community Fan Drive. Rockdale Chamber of Commerce will distribute box fans to those who need them in the community. Supplies are limited and restricted to one per household.
As we begin to come out of the pandemic, I am pleased to report that our economics are really improving. Things slowed during the worst of the pandemic, but our local economy is growing, businesses are expanding, our unemployment rate is low and there are lots of available jobs in the county.
While we’re all still on a high from the July 4th fireworks show that Whinstone provided, it’s a good time to make note of the good deeds this company, under the leadership of Chad Harris, has done for our town.
