FALLING FAR FROM THE TREE St. John’s United Methodist Church celebrated its 150th anniversary on Sunday with a big ceremony and lunch. While my dad is not the oldest member of the church, he is the member who has been a member the longest, and he was asked to speak about his membership.

CASA of Milam County needs you

The Court Appointed Special Advocates of Milam County, or as they are more commonly known, CASA, is in desperate need of volunteers to become advocates for the children. With around 150 Milam County Kids in foster care at any time, we need all the CASA volunteers we can get.

West Texas measles outbreak spreads among unvaccinated residents Since late January, 22 children and youths and two adults in Gaines County along the New Mexico border have been diagnosed with measles. All were unvaccinated.

Growth paying for new infrastructure

As we move forward with our infrastructure improvements, it's important to remember that infrastructure is not only buildings, roads, bridges or any other physical structures. Infrastructure is also added personnel that are needed in a growing county.
