School starting— Every year about this time school starts up and it seems like it comes earlier and earlier. Some of the schools in Milam County are starting this week with the rest kicking off next week. Somehow, it sure seems like we used to have all of August to relax before school kicked off for the year. So, as you’re going about your business over the next few weeks, remember, school is back in session so there will be more traffic in town, buses on the roads and children walking to and from school. Be safe out there.

Dear editor, This has been weighing on my heart. I am writing to address a pressing issue that has been affecting our community: drug addiction. It is a problem that has become increasingly prevalent and is causing significant harm to the well-being of individuals and families alike.
