With this year’s legislative session in full swing, I felt it important to cover a few of the bills that we are looking at here that will help rural Texas and Milam County in particular. The first bill is House Bill 1109 which exempts counties from state motor fuels tax.

Life is so much better with pets

We have two feral cats that hate each other. Penny is only kind of feral, but Tiger is completely feral. I had to start feeding Tiger on the front porch and put Penny’s food on the back porch. Oddly, none of us has seen Tiger since it got cold., and she was not looking great last time we did.

It was a crazy time in Rockdale, Texas

Tuesday of this week was the five-year anniversary of the beginning of the COVID pandemic which changed everyone's lives, including ours in Rockdale. I had just moved back to Rockdale from Houston in the summer of 2019. What a strange time it was.
