METHODIST MEN

The men of St. John’s United Methodist Church held their annual chili supper last Thursday and it was a big success raising over $3,600 which will be used for the church’s growing youth program.

There was no shortage of children present to hear Susan Wallis Cole read her children’s book at Main Street Bookshop. In fact, the entire store was packed with guests, both young and old alike. Above Cole reads her book to all the children present.

CELEBRATING THE ARTISTS

These five Rockdale Junior High students are the winners of the Sesquicentennial Committee’s request for t-shirt designs commemorating Rockdale’s 150th anniversary. All five students’ designs will be used on commemorative shirts which will be available to purchase.

Custom Truck and Car Show

The annual Texas Showdown Freedom Rally Custom Truck and Car Show sponsored locally by R&B Accessories Tire and Trailer Sales took place at Apache Pass over the past weekend and included a chili cookoff and lots of awards. Here are a selection of some of the custom cars taken on Saturday.

Milam 4-H third at Nationals

Milam County 4-H members competed at the National 4-H FCS Championship in San Antonio on Jan. 12. They won third place overall with many other placings in the individual categories.
