Milano/Gause ag booster fundraiser set for Feb. 5

The Milano/Gause Ag Booster Club is having a fundraiser Sunday, Feb. 5, at the KC Hall in Rockdale. You can buy tickets for a loaded baked potato and the tickets for the drawing from any member. POWERLIFTING— The Milano powerlifting team did really well in a recent competition.

Potatoes are healthy, nutritious

Potatoes get a bad rap as being unhealthy, but they are actually nutritious. It’s the way we cook them and what we add on top of them that make them unhealthy. Chicken Vesuvio is an Italian-American dish that comes from Chicago, and it could be a dish for company or a nice family meal.

At GO Car Wash’s grand opening last Thursday, Site Integration Leader Kalcen Medina and General Manager Kevin Starr, took time out from the festivities to make a generous $2,000 donation to Vision Rockdale for the restoration of The 1895.

There is a story making the rounds concerning Robert Hightower of Queens, New York who realized a lifelong dream in April, 1953. He went to the Masters Tournament in Augusta. His hero, Ben Hogan, played for the championship and won with a 14 under par, 274 score.

Get off the porch

New Years is probably one of my favorite holidays or times of the year. The reason I have this bromance with the New Year is well, who doesn’t like “new.” New year, new car, new job, new surfboard, new pair of running shoes. New is always good, right?! How about a new attitude?

LOCK-IN

Murray Street Church of Christ held their annual lock-in on New Year’s Eve for the youth members of their church. This year they had 20 kids participating. They enjoyed lots of good food, bible lessons, games all night long and sparklers at midnight.
