Deanville VFD holds fried chicken fundraiser The Deanville community will hold its annual fried chicken meal fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 11: a.m. at the Deanville VFD at FM 60 and FM 111. The meals will include fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, noodles, dessert and tea.

Mom made King Ranch Chicken Casserole the other night and it was so good. None of us could remember the last time we had it. We almost never buy big bell peppers anymore since they started selling those smaller ones in a bag. So that’s what she used.

One of these 14 contestants will be the new Miss Rockdale Fair Queen in the annual beauty pageant sponsored by Rockdale Fair Association, as part of the 2021 Fair activities. The pageant is set for Saturday at the Rockdale High School auditorium.

Monday’s weather was perfect, but who knows when you are reading this, it could be just the opposite of perfect. James and Sherri Rasco have a new granddaughter, Sutton James Starnes. Parents are Jason and Erica Starnes of Roanoke, Virginia. Sutton is welcomed by two sisters, Caroline and Savanah.
