Puckett ties for fifth at STPGA Junior Golf

Rockdale’s Karter Puckett tied for f if th place among 39 young competitors at the STPGA Junior Golf Championship, held Aug. 3-5 in The Woodlands. Puckett, 11, is the son of Kyler and Sonora Puckett of Rockdale. A dedicated golfer, he spends many hours each week practicing at Rockdale Country Club.

Tiger tennis opens season with victory

The Rockdale Tigers got the 2026 fall tennis season off to a strong start Tuesday with a 12-7 victory over Whitney. The Tigers claimed 12 of the 19 matches played in the season opener.

Rockdale Country Club hosted the annual Rockdale Alumni Golf & Friends Tournament over the weekend, with 53 golfers competing on 10 teams in the event. Three teams finished tied for the tournament championship after each carded a 12-under-par 60, forcing a playoff to determine the final standings.
