Stephens, Hurd sign

On Monday two Rockdale Tiger student-athletes signed to play college sports at the college level. With family and friends in attendance at Tiger Gym, Trinity Hurd signed to play volleyball for the Dallas College Mountain View Lions in Dallas.

Stephens, Preusse, Shock to compete at state meet

AUSTIN—Rockdale high jumper De’Andre Stephens, the Class 3A Region III Champ, will be competing at the Class 3A state meet this week at Mike A. Meyer’s Stadium in Austin.

RYBA crowns three more champions

The Rockdale Youth Baseball Association hosted end-of-season tournaments for ages 6U-10U this past weekend. In the 6U division, RTX Elite were crowned champions, with Heavy Hitters coming in second. The 8U division had the Milano Eagles taking the championship with RTX Elite taking second place.

Three golfers named Academic All-State

The Rockdale Tigers golf teams had three named to the Academic All-State Team last week with five others being named to the Academic All-District Team.

Rockdale’s Stephens, Thorndale’s Preusse, Shock qualify for state

Three area athletes qualified for state meets in track and field competition. Rockdale high jumper Dre Stephens is the Class 3A Region III Champ, while Thorndale’s Bethany Preusse is the Class 2A Region IV Champ in the discus and the shot put.

Booster Club golf tourney, crawfish boil to be held May 16th The 18th annual Rockdale Tiger Booster Club Golf Tournament & Crawfish Boil will be held May 16 at Rockdale Country Club. Entry fee is $100 per person (includes a meal ticket).

Groesbeck tames Tigers

CALDWELL—The Rockdale Tiger (16-12) baseball season came to an end in Caldwell on Saturday in the bi-district playoff series with Groesbeck Goats (21-6-1). GAME ON E —On Wednesday the Tigers traveled to Bremond for game one of the best-of-three series with Groesbeck.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

MANOR—The Thorndale Bulldogs (16-4) double dipped the Punchers (157) from Mason to claim the bi-district championship last week in Manor. In game one, Jaxson Eschberger dominated from the mound in a 12-0 Bulldog victory.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

WILLIS—The Milano Eagles baseball team (5-24) battled hard but fell to Big Sandy (18-12) in two games, 24-4 and 16-3, in last week’s Class 2A bi-district playoffs at Willis.
