THURSDAY’S TIGERS

The sub varsity Tigers suffered another loss last week against the Little River Academy Bumblebees. The final score was Bumblebees 47, Tigers 20. The Bees were pass crazy in this game. They showed off their skill players by scoring all four of their first half touchdowns through the air.

Academy offensive attack too much for Tigers

ACADEMY—Murphy’s Law that says, “Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong” is still a thing. That was the backstory to the Tigers loss against the Little River-Academy Bumblebees. The final score of the game was Bees 42, Tigers 21.

Milano drops third district game

GRANGER—The Eagles lost last week on the road against the Granger Lions. The final score was Lions 51, Eagles 14. The Eagles put the first points on the board with Eagle junior quarterback Anthony Valadez hitting junior standout running back Andres Ruelas for an 11-yard touchdown pass.

Thorndale to play Hearne in last game

The Thorndale Bulldogs will be back in action this week after a week off. This team that is 0-9 in overall play and 0-5 in district play will travel to Allen Academy in Bryan to play the Hearne Eagles.

Recognizing two hard-working Tiger leaders

It’s good to be a Tiger isn’t it? Win or lose we love our Big Blue. I know people complain about how much attention sports gets in a small rural community but it is the only show in town in many ways.

Granger SLOW. Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 3.62 feet below pool. Black bass are good along the south shore in the hydrilla. Crappie are good on jigs fished in 4-13 feet of water. White bass are slow. Blue catfish are good on juglines baited with cut bait. Yellow catfish are good on live perch.

ROCKDALE CROSS COUNTRY

The Tigers varsity boys long distance crew ran in the regional meet this week in Huntsville. They finished in seventh place out of 24 teams. Tiger runner Jesus Bocanegra became a four-time state qualifier with a sixth-place finish.

THURSDAY’S TIGERS

If we could eliminate the second quarter from Thursday’s game the sub-varsity Tigers would have won against the rival Yoemen with a final of 33-25. But since we can’t do that the final was Cameron 45, Rockdale 33. Cameron came out and scored first but missed the extra point.

LADY TIGERS VOLLEYBALL

The last full week of this year’s volleyball season was disappointing as the Lady Tigers lost to both Troy at their last home match Friday night and then earlier in the week they lost to Lorena. The final against Troy was Troy 3, Rockdale 0 and the final against Lorena was the same.
