Rockdale unable to overcome Lorena

LORENA—The playoffs are still on the table for this Rockdale Tiger team that never lets up. Big Blue did lose another game Friday night but they will press on towards what’s ahead because that’s what they’ve done all year long.

Milano suffers first district loss

IOL A—The Mi l a no Eagles had a long bus ride home from Iola last Friday night. The Bulldogs beat the Eagles 40-7. The Eagles fell to 4-3 for the season and 1-1 in district play. Iola came out ready to win the game on both sides of the ball.

Thorndale falls in fourth quarter

Game stats on page 3B. HOLLAND—The Thorndale Bulldogs lost last week on the road against one of the top-ranked football teams in the state, the Holland Hornets.

LADY TIGERS VOLLEYBALL

The Lady Tiger varsity volleyball team split wins and losses last week with Cameron and Academy. The Tigers came out on top at home against Cameron and lost on the road against Academy. Early in the week the Lady Tigers clearly came out to win and beat rival Cameron 3-0 in very competitive games.

ROCKDALE CROSS COUNTRY

BOYS The Tigers long-distance crew ran in McGregor on Monday. This was their district meet and the boys varsity team finished in third place. This performance secured their spot in the regional meet.

JV FOOTBALL

The Rockdale Tiger junior varsity football team lost on the road against Troy last week. They are now 1-5 for the year and 0-2 in district. The Troy Trojans kept the Tigers scoreless in all four quarters. The final score was Troy 21, Rockdale 0.

Tigers top Troy for homecoming win

Game stats on page 3B. The Blue and Gold played against the visiting Troy Trojans on Friday night and came out with their first district victory of the season. The final score was Rockdale 29, Troy 21. I heard someone say this was the tale of two halves.

Game stats on page 3B. The Mi lano Eag le s showed off in front of a home audience in their first district game this season. They won a decisive victory against the Bartlett Bulldogs. The final score was Milano 28, Bartlett 6. The Eagles are 4-2 for the season and 1-0 in district play.

Thorndale still looking for first win

Game stats on page 3B. If you are a Bulldog fan, it’s not getting any easier for you as the season progresses. The Bulldogs lost Friday at home against the Weimar Wildcats. The final score was Weimar 35, Thorndale 22. This game was a fight and Thorndale’s offense came out ready to do battle.
