The Thorndale Bulldogs treated the post-Christmas Giddings Tournament like a tune-up before district games start next week by running the table and going 4-0. Congratulations Bulldogs on a great tournament and for coming home champions.

MILANO BASKETBALL

The Milano Eagles lost their game against the Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls last week. The final score was 43-33. COMING UP— They were to play at home against Holland on Jan. 2. Lady Eagles The high flying Milano Lady Eagles went 1-3 in the Mumford Tournament last week.

ROCKDALE H IGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The undefeated-in-district- play (1-0) Rockdale Tigers traveled to New Caney to play in the New Caney Tournament this week. The Tigers split games on Thursday. They won against West Fork High School out of Kingwood 59-49 and then lost against the Tarkington Longhorns out of Cleveland 67-56.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER

The Rockdale Tiger soccer team rolled into East Texas after they celebrated Christmas to take on the Westwood Panthers from Palestine and left with a tie, 2-2. NEXT UP— The Tigers will be idle until Jan. 9 when they will host the Jarrell Cougars at 7 p.m.

Granger SLOW. Water lightly stained; 55 degrees; 1.10 feet below pool. Black bass are slow. Crappie are fair in deep water out from Fox Park. White bass are slow. Blue catfish are good drift fishing shad in deep water. Yellow catfish are slow.

Rockdale alum Valdez stays at Tech

The “Wreck ’Em” tattoo is still good for former Rockdale Tiger football player Cam’Ron Valdez. This Tiger great graduated in 2021 from RHS and went out to west Texas to continue his football career by playing for the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

ROCKDALE HIGH BASKETBALL

The Rockdale Lady Tigers Basketball team got back on that victory train against district neighbor Lexington last week. The final score was Rockdale 46, Lexington 43.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Milano Lady Eagles continue to steamroll opponents. They are 3-0 in district play after beating Bartlett last week. The final score was Milano 47-37.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER

The Lady Tiger soccer team came up short in a contest of character against Robinson. The final score was 12-0. COMING UP— The Lady Tigers are off for Christmas and will return to the field on Dec. 29t in a road game against Westwood.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

There is a lot to celebrate in Thorndale right now as the Bulldogs won two more games last week. They are now 13-3 for the year. Thorndale went to Mumford and took down the Mustangs 55-45 and then welcomed the Florence Buffaloes to their home court and beat them 69-25.
