LADY TIGERS VOLLEYBALL

The Lady Tiger volleyball teams for the most part continued to struggle last week with losses both to Troy and to Rogers. TROY— The Lady Tigers started the week with a road game against the Troy Trojans. The varsity spikers lost 3-0, JV1 lost 2- 0 and JV2 lost 2-0.

The Tiger JV team lost against the Franklin Lions at home last week. The final score was 30-0. It’s true that “Tiger Fight Never Dies” and the Tigers proved that in the second half, fighting the Lions all the way to the end of the game.

BOYS— The Tiger long distance crew (top photo) ran only once last week. They participated in the Camp Tejas Invitational in Giddings on Friday. Tiger runner Jesus Bocanegra competed as an individual in the 5A/6A division and placed an amazing fourth.

FRANKLIN—The Tigers have some play makers. Maybe all 34 young men on the current roster qualify. They showed up and really showed off against Texas Football magazine’s No. 1-ranked team in the state, the two-time defending state champion Franklin Lions last Friday.

Milano loses second in a row

The now 3-2 Milano Eagles lost their game Friday night against private school Geneva out of Boerne. This was a home game for the Eagles. The final score was Geneva 49, Milano 28. The Eagles had been on a roll but have now dropped two in a row.

Thorndale drops another close game

FLATONIA—The Thorndale Bulldogs lost yet another close game last Friday night. The Flatonia Bulldogs won this contest with a final score of 35-28.

Varsity The Tiger long distance crew ran in the Bronco Invitational in Temple last week. The boy’s varsity team (top right) came home with another first place win. Medalists were Jesus Bocanegra, first place; Jose Tenorio, third place; and Alex Cooper, eighth place.

Milano Eagles cross country duo of seniors Kandace Koenig (R) and Wyatt Koening (L) came in second place and 13th place, respectively, in the Dale Keen Invitational Cross Country Meet in Cameron last week. The Milano girls team came in third overall and the boys team placed fifth.
