Eagles suffer first loss of season, now at 3-1

HOUSTON—The undefeated Milano Eagles met their match Friday night on the road against power house private school Cypress Christian. The Eagles fell hard to the Warriors with a final score of Cypress Christian 42, Milano 20. The Eagles scored first in this match up.

Thorndale loses heart-breaking district-opener in overtime

THOR NDA LE—The three-time state champion Thorndale Bulldogs dropped their district opener in overtime at home this past Friday night against the Schulenburg Shorthorns. The final score was a hard-fought Shorthorns 41, Bulldogs 40.

LADY TIGERS VOLLEYBALL

The Lady Tiger volleyball team is having its own drought. They suffered through another week of losses, losing to both district foes McGregor and Lorena. The Lady Tigers currently have a record of 14-20. McGREGOR— The varsity spikers lost to McGregor 3-2.

ROCKDALE CROSS COUNTRY

The Tiger long distance crew ran in Lexington on Friday. Both the girls and boys varsity teams came home winners. The Lady Tigers finished third overall with Daniella Bocanegra placing ninth and Aliana Ramos placing 11th in their individual races. The boys varsity came in first place overall.

LADY TIGERS VOLLEYBALL

The Lady Tigers volleyball team played in Lexington on Friday. They lost in very close games. The final was Lexington 3, Rockdale 1. The Lady Tigers won the first set but the momentum changed towards a good Lexington Eagle team and Rockdale was never able to recover.

Tiger JV football summary It was tough sledding for the sub-varsity squad on Thursday night against the Lorena Leopards. This road loss ended with a final score of Lorena 43, Rockdale 0. The JV Tigers football team is 1-3 for the year. These Tigers are off this week.

The Thorndale Bulldogs failed to break their winless streak this past Friday night in a close game at home against the Iola Bulldogs. The final score was Iola 38, Thorndale 31. Bulldog quarterback junior Gunner Ferguson ran the ball 26 yards to score the first touchdown of the night.
