Volleyball season comes to a close

The Lady Tigers wrapped up their season last week with a road loss against the Rogers Eagles. The varsity lost 0-3, the JV lost 0-2. The Lady Tigers went 1-13 in district and 15-24 for the year.

Members of the Rockdale Tigers football team admire the repaint job of the bell trailer. The trailer was repainted by Scott’s Body Shop. The Tigers retook the bell from Cameron with a 47-21 victory on Oct. 20.

The sub varsity Tigers suffered another loss last week against the Little River Academy Bumblebees. The final score was Bumblebees 47, Tigers 20. The Bees were pass crazy in this game. They showed off their skill players by scoring all four of their first half touchdowns through the air.

ACADEMY—Murphy’s Law that says, “Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong” is still a thing. That was the backstory to the Tigers loss against the Little River-Academy Bumblebees. The final score of the game was Bees 42, Tigers 21.

Milano drops third district game

GRANGER—The Eagles lost last week on the road against the Granger Lions. The final score was Lions 51, Eagles 14. The Eagles put the first points on the board with Eagle junior quarterback Anthony Valadez hitting junior standout running back Andres Ruelas for an 11-yard touchdown pass.

Thorndale to play Hearne in last game

The Thorndale Bulldogs will be back in action this week after a week off. This team that is 0-9 in overall play and 0-5 in district play will travel to Allen Academy in Bryan to play the Hearne Eagles.

The Tigers varsity boys long distance crew ran in the regional meet this week in Huntsville. They finished in seventh place out of 24 teams. Tiger runner Jesus Bocanegra became a four-time state qualifier with a sixth-place finish.
