T he R o c k d a le H ig h School powerlifting team went to Taylor to compete on Saturday. D.J. Travis won first place, Dylan Jones took second, Shelly Segovia also had a second place, Ragan Roberts placed in third and Bryson Duncan came in sixth, each in their own weight classes.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Rockdale Tigers basketball team traveled to Troy to take on the Trojans last week. This game ended in a loss for the Tigers, the final score was 59-36.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Milano Eagles basketball team played competitively against Flatonia last week. The Bulldogs did, however, end up winning with a final score of 58-50. Milano then faced the Thrall Tigers later in the week and lost 60-27.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL POWERLIFTING

BUFFALO MEET—Milano powerlifters went to a meet in Buffalo on Jan. 10 with four Eagles placing first in their weight classes. Milano results were: 123 wt. class—1. Drew Werlinger, 840; 3. J.D. Chambers, 720. 132 wt. class—1. Melanee Moccia, 670; 2. Sam Battles, 755. 148 wt. class—1.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

Tigers The Rockdale Tigers had a full week on the hard court. Early in the week the now 2-1 McGregor Bulldogs pulled into town and beat the Tiger varsity squad in their own gym by a score of 54-38. High flying De’Andre Stephens was one of the top performers in this loss.

ROCKDALE SOCCER

Tigers The Rockdale Tiger soccer team traveled last week to play in the Madisonville Tournament and finished up with a 3-2 record. The Tigers finished in second place after losing in the final against Madisonville. The final score in the championship game was Madisonville 3, Rockdale 0.

MILANO BASKETBALL

Eagles The hard fighting Milano Eagles boys basketball team played against the Holland Hornets last Tuesday in Milano and suffered a heartbreaking loss with a final score of Holland 40, Milano 37.

THORNDALE BASKETBALL

Bulldogs The Thorndale Bulldogs are starting the New year off right. They are undefeated in district play—they are 2-0 after defeating both Granger and Bartlett. The final scores of these games were Thorndale 47, Granger 25 and Thorndale 53, Bartlett 19.

ROCKDALE POWERLIFTING

The Rockdale Tiger and Lady Tiger powerlifting teams had their first meet of the year in Giddings last week. Lady Tiger Elizabeth Perry won first in her weight class.
