The Tiger soccer team went to Smithville last week and tied, 0-0 but got the win from a penalty shoot out. The Tigers are now 2-1 in district play. COMING UP— They were to travel to Giddings and take on the 2-2 Buffaloes on Tuesday, before the 1-2 La Grange Leopards come to town on Friday at 7:30 p.

THORNDALE TENNIS

Thorndale’s tennis season kicked off last week with their first match in Bastrop on Friday.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

Big Blue continues to struggle on the hard court. It seems like they are just a couple of pieces away from putting something together. No doubt there is talent on this team and they are well coached but just can’t seem to win. The Tigers lost both of their games last week.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The undefeated Thorndale Bulldogs went to Granger last week and came home with another win. Thorndale is undefeated this year in district play at 7-0 and 24-3 overall. The final score against the Lions was Thorndale 47, Granger 37.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Eagles are persevering through a season of heartbreak. Milano lost both of their games last week and they continue to remain winless in district play and only have one win overall this year.

Lions win own tourney

THORNDALE—St. Paul Lutheran School in Thorndale hosted their annual invitational basketball tournament on Jan. 19-20. The Lions boys’ varsity team k icked off t he tournament by going 2-0 on the first day, including a win against Immanuel Lutheran Giddings.

RHS SOCCER

The Tigers boys’ soccer team started district play last week against the Caldwell Hornets. The game was played on the road and they won 8-0. Key players were Wilmer Sorto who scored three goals, Daniel Castillo, Eduardo Rivera, Jose Orellana, Diego Garza and Angel Rivera had one goal each.
