The Thorndale Bulldogs lost on the road Friday night to the Riesel Pirates. The final score was Riesel 26, Thorndale 0. It was a tough loss and the Bulldogs played better than what is reflected in the score.

Tigers claim first victory of season

A confident Rockdale Tiger team showed up Friday night on the road against what is historically a good Lexington Eagle football team and came away with their first win of the season. The final score was Rockdale 27, Lexington 13.

LADY TIGERS VOLLEYBALL

LEON— The Lady Tigers ended pre-district play on Tuesday against the No. 1-ranked 2A Leon Cougars out of Jewett. Former Tiger and Head Volleyball Coach Morgan Laughlin was pleased with her team’s effort, “Leon is a great team. We had some good moments, some of the best rallies of this season.

ROCKDALE CROSS COUNTRY

Rockdale Tigers cross country team ran in a regional preview last week at the Huntsville Kate Barr Ross Memorial Park. According to Tiger Head Cross Country Coach Cheryl Meuth, “They competed well.” The varsity boys placed 10th out of 29 teams.

The varsity Lady Tigers had a hard week dropping both games against the Taylor Ducks and the Bremond Tigers. There is still some movement in personnel as they prepare for the district season opener.

THURSDAY TIGERS

The Tiger junior varsity football team fell to 0-2 for the year this past week. They lost to the Taylor Ducks here at home. The final score was Taylor 14, Rockdale 6. Tiger James Bartsch made an interception on the Duck’s opening possession.
